GIRLS LOVE RALLIE LIVE IN COPENHAGEN THIS WEEK
This Wednesday - December 16th - Girls Love Rallie is playing an acoustic solo gig at Huset i Magstræde (Musikcaféen) in Copenhagen. This is at Earthhour Event which is a whole night event. It starts around 20.00 and then goes on with music... as one could expect... but then offers the audience the possibility to stay and sleep. Later to be awaken by a morning choir and breakfast. How's that for just 30 DKK?
Also performing that night is Esther Maria & The Song Horse (featured on our SOPA CURIOSA compilation), Soffie Viemose, Piip (poetry reading), Mundhug (bedtime stories) plus VJ and DJ.
Check out the night's program at http://www.husetmagstraede.dk/Default.asp?id=2&event=4599

SOPA NIGHTS A SUCCES
We had a really great time at the two SOPA nights in Aarhus and Aalborg last month. Great performances by Agata & Me, A.K. Hansn & The Five Orange Pips, Marzipan Marzipan and Sister Chain & Brother John. The SOPA HQ mainframe is at the digi-doctor's right now, but we will have some nice live video from the shows online later when it's been resurrected. We'll let you know when it happens.
For those of you who attended the Aarhus gig and didn't want to bring the lovely LP of Sister Chain & Brother John with you while going for a drink afterwards, we're pleased to tell you that it's now available to buy at the two fine Aarhus vinyl shops Route 66 and Dandelion Records. Of course you can still also buy it from the SOPA website.

A.K. HANSN & CAPT. DAYDREAM GO ALL X-MASSY
This coming Saturday - the 19th - A.K. Hansn's band Singvogel is doing their annual christmas show. This will be at Entréscenen in Grønnegade, Aarhus. Expect some warm fuzzy-feeling alcoholic drinks, plenty of 'guest stars' on stage and that special christmas feeling you'll only get at Singvogel christmas shows with black santa hats 'n' all. Capt. Daydream had their pleasure of dj'ing some rocking tunes last year. It went pretty well. So he's on again this year.
As an extra bonus this year's christmas show is ALSO a release party (or 'exorcism event') for Singvogel's brand new album "Disneyexorcist". The band have upped the tempo on this one, it seems. You can taste the title track here: http://disneyexorcist.singvogel.dk. An early review in Danish is already online: http://aoa.dk/musik/artikel/en-original-knaldperle-fra-singvogel
The fun this Saturday starts around 20.00.

NEW SOPA CD & MERCHANDISE
We made a special cd for the SOPA Nights last month. Now they're in the SOPA shop for everyone to buy. This treat of a compilation contains 8 exclusive tracks by Marzipan Marzipan, Agata & Me, A.K. Hansn and Sister Chain & Brother John. Read more at: http://www.sopa.dk/releases/009.htm
We're also proud to present the very first piece of SOPA merchandise: a t-shirt with a design by Zelda Panda (Marzipan Marzipan). We only have a few. Check it out here: http://www.sopa.dk/releases/M001.html

FUTURE SOPA COMPILATION(S)?
We're thinking about doing a new compilation. Or should we do more than one? The thought is to be a little more "homogenous" (yet still varied) on each disc this time around. So maybe one disc with quiet evening songs. And maybe another that kicks ass in an entirely different way. Let's see what happens. Got tracks, got ideas? Feel free to drop a line!

FRIENDS HAVING FUN
Esther Maria & The Song Horse - as mentioned earlier this e-mail - is playing in Copenhagen this Wednesday at Huset i Magstræde (Musikcaféen): http://www.husetmagstraede.dk/Default.asp?id=2&event=4599

Bleubird is releasing a new album with his German partner in crime Jayrope. Just about now. Together they're called Prinzenallee. And the album - called "Don't Let Nerds Take Over Your Life" - is simply amazing. Progessive, inventive rap with melodic, yet noisy lo-fi electronics and instrumentation. Check out the 'album preview' at http://www.myspace.com/prinzenallee. The album is out in Japan, but also through Bleubird's Canadian label Endemik Music ( http://www.endemikmusic.com ). The duo is planning a European tour come February-March. If you want to help out setting up some gigs (perhaps in Denmark and Sweden) send an e-mail to SOPA and we'll get cracking on it.

Lamburg Tony (featured on the SOPA DELICIOSA-compilation) is part of the "Æsjo" LP-compilation on his lable Escho that have just been released a few days ago. Read more at http://www.escho.net/e10.html. But just check out Escho in general. They're one of the coolest labels in Denmark right now. Impressive vinyl releases and also great at putting on exciting gigs. This way: http://www.escho.net.

Nils Gröndahl - the artist behind the very first SOPA cd - is putting out a new album with his band Under Byen on February 8th, 2010. It's the fourth since their debut back in 1999. An impressive string of critically applauded releases that also - helped by the band's intense live shows - have gained them a following well outside their borders of their native Denmark. We're quite a few that are curious what this new album will bring.

Have a nice holiday! Don't buy or consume too much, okay? If...then drop by the economy-friendly SOPA shop, alright? ;-D
